Golf Courses
St Andrews “New Course“ : 17/20 Rated 38th in Golf World's top 100 courses in the UK in 2002, the New is a classic links course Opened in April 1895, the course was built in response to increasing demand for golf at St Andrews, both from locals and from the visitors who were flocking to the town in increasing numbers on the recently constructed railway. The result is a classic links course which uses the natural features of the land to create a first class golfing challenge. The course has the traditional out and back layout, with the 18th green just to the right of the first tee. It also has, in the great St Andrews tradition, shared fairways and even a double green at the 3rd and 15th holes. It has frequently been said that if the New Course were not situated next to the Old, then its star would have shone with a far greater degree of brilliance.
Golf de St Andrews “Jubilee Course“ : 16/20 First opened in 1897, the championship Jubilee is the most testing course on the links. Lying on the southern flank of the St Andrews links courses, the Jubilee catches the effects of wind and weather. Adding this to its 6,800 yards, many are surprised how vigorous a course it can be.
St Andrews Bay “Kittocks Course“ : 17/20
Bruce Devlin's experience and expertise have provided the Devlin with its innovative and exciting character. It is a truly magnificent 72par, 7,049 yard championship course that sweeps its way along the rugged seaside landscape. This as yet, undiscovered gem begins by innocently easing the golfer into a false sense of security, offering wide, well manicured fairways that wind around man-made water features and risky bunkers, teasing the golfer with a mix of par fours and fives. Then it is onto the par 5, 7th where the walk to the tee signals the beginning of the roller coaster style ride up, over and around the rugged wilderness of Kittock's Den. These ridge holes open up to the panorama of the white water crashing on the rocky shoreline below and over the body of the North sea to the Grampian mountains which dominate the horizon. The ever-changing ambience of this vast and spectacular view heightens the experience for the golfer.
Crail “Balcomie Links“ : 15/20 This second links at Fifeness is set to join Balcomie as one of Scotland's "must play" courses. With wide sweeping fairways and large greens it is a fair challenge but be warned - there are hungry bunkers a-plenty! No two consecutive holes face the same direction and with constantly changing conditions there is enough variety of shots to test golfers of all abilities.

St Andrews “Old Course“ : 18/20 The oldest golf course in the world has many remarkable features which help make it so special to golfers around the world. It is the Home of Golf where golf was first played 600 years ago and yet it remains a real test of golf for today's champions. Despite its reputation and status, it is a public course and is one of six public courses on St Andrews Links. The Old Course has evolved over time and was not designed by any one architect. The people who played a major role in shaping it are Daw Anderson (1850s), Old Tom Morris (1860s- 1900)and Dr Alister Mackenzie (1930s). The course is known for its particular physical features including 112 bunkers, some of which are especially famous e.g. 'Hell' on the long 14th, 'Strath' on the short 11th and the Road Bunker at what is probably the most famous golf hole in the world, the 17th or Road Hole (so called because a road - which is in play - runs hard against the back edge of the green). Another peculiar feature of the Old Course is the double greens where the outward and inward holes are cut on the same putting surface. These greens are large, not surprisingly, and golfers can be faced with putts of almost 100 yards.
