As well the big square tower whose architecture of defence is intact and the small one are built quite similar. Suggested visit of Abbaye de Citeaux The Abbey of St Nicolas des Citeaux dates back some 900 years. The Monks of Citeaux became the owners of Citeaux Vineyards in order to serve their own wine upon mass, following their founder Saint Benoit advice. Cellars were built in the 12th century and production of this fermier cheese began as recently as 1925. Sightseeing in Beaune : During it's 2000 year existence Beaune was for a short period the capital of the Dukes of Burgundy. Today, the visitor finds confined within the walls of Beaune a charming blend of medieval half timbered houses, the gentle curves of Romanesque architecture, rooftops ornamented by weathervanes, fascinating townhouses and the multicolored tiles and lead "lacework " of the Hôtel Dieu. Bastions and towers nowadays offer a peaceful protection to the region's most prestigious products, the moat has been transformed into public or private gardens sheltering century old plant collections in the Wine capital of Burgundy. Wine tasting at the Caves Patriarches, the most famous wine cellars in Burgundy since 1780 located under the streets of Beaune in extraordinary galleries, featuring thousands of bottles of wine. Suggested Wine tasting visit Bouchard Père et Fils Winery The Maison Bouchard Père et Fils is endowed with exceptional heritage, counting more than 50 000 bottles dating from 1950s and of a unique collection of very rare flasks of the XIXth century. Golf at Dijon Bourgogne golf course Owned by the famous Formula 1 champion Jacques Lafitte, Dijon golf course is a magnificent wooded course where technical skills and strategy will prevail on pure strength. Even though there are not out of bounds or high roughs, the visitor will have to keep the ball straight on the fairway because of the woods set all along the course. Home of the champion Patricia Meunier Lebouc, ranked 28th on the LPGA tour, Dijon is the traditional golf course of Burgundy and respects the wine tradition in organizing each year the “Trophee des Grands Crus”, and naming each hole after a top vintage of Burgundy. |  |

Suggested visit at Château de Meursault (wine tasting visit) The origin of the Chateau de Meursault goes back to the 11th century. In 1666, the owner Pierre de Blancheton, lawyer in the Parliament of Burgundy will remain there until the Revolution. At the beginning of the 19th century the estate was extended, largely due to the influence of the Serre family who made important architectural modifications and considerably developed the vineyards. The vineyards of the Chateau de Meursault are ideally situated and sheltered from the winds by the mountains on the west .At Meursault, they spread over the quarries.
